Brian Maffett was a distinguished mechanical engineer and visionary leader whose dedication and expertise profoundly shaped Maffett Loftis Engineering (MLE). Co-founding the firm in 2008 alongside Gary Loftis, Brian was instrumental in establishing MLE’s reputation for delivering high-quality engineering and design solutions. His commitment to excellence and client-focused service laid the foundation for the firm's growth and success. ​

A proud alumnus of Tennessee Technological University, Brian earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, which propelled him into a career marked by innovation and leadership. Before founding MLE, he honed his skills at Ball Engineering Corporation in Boulder, Colorado, where he contributed to significant projects and witnessed historic events, including the fall of the Berlin Wall—a testament to his global perspective and engagement.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Brian was deeply involved in the Cookeville community, embodying a spirit of service and generosity. Brian passed away in 2024, but his legacy continues to inspire the values and mission of MLE, as the firm remains committed to upholding the standards of integrity, precision, and community engagement that Brian championed throughout his life.
